#WeekendCoffeeShare: If We Were Having Coffee… On June 4

Hello book lovers,

How are you? Welcome to the Weekend Coffee Share, a blog hop by the lovely Diana over at Part Time Monster. Every weekend we get together for virtual coffees and a little casual chat. How has this past week been for you?

I am sorry I missed last week’s update. There was a delay with my assignments due to my professor not responding and telling me that his students in the US were basically more important than me… Long story short, I handed in late as I was waiting on a resource and clarification and he still has not responded.

But: I have officially finished all university assignments. All that’s now between me and graduation is my research proposal and Master thesis!! Mind you, I will have loads to read in the upcoming days:

Thesis Reading AusLit

If we were having coffee today, we’d stay inside. We’ve had rains and thunderstorms every day for a week now, and even though it’s usually dry during the day, it’s ridiculously humid.

Have you read any good books recently? I’m currently reading Mullumbimby by Melissa Lucashenko and I love it! Plus, fun fact, back in 2007 when I was road tripping through Australia, I actually stopped for food in the real town of Mullumbimby in New South Wales.

I am also making my way through various Advance Review Copies I got. Obviously, reading for my degree – which involves 12 Australian novels – is my priority. But I am getting through my list!

Now that it’s “just” my thesis left, I will be updating regularly again. I will also start uploading the reviews of books I’ve already read this year. I know I previously said I had a schedule and then promptly went off it, but in my defence, I didn’t think it my final assignment would be delayed for 2 weeks (and have me frantically searching for resources to use) just because my professor had better things to do all month than taking 5 minutes to answer my mail. I mean, if you study by distance learning and the link to one resource stopped working, it shouldn’t be wrong to assume that the professor had a digital copy of the resource downloaded, right? And if a student needs clarification on the assignment brief (which just read: “Prepare a proposal for an action (business or non-profit) that aims at contributing to the new changes in society at the global level“) because there was no note what such a proposal should look like, you’d expect the professor to provide that clarification, wouldn’t you?

Well, as the last two weeks were dominated by studies, not much else happened. Check out the other Weekend Coffee Sharers. Thank you for having coffee with me! Same time, next week?
